THE FACE BEHIND KANA LIVING - BELEN AMORES GRIFFIN
Hey there! I'm Belen, and I'm thrilled you're here. If you checked out my website's home page, you've caught a glimpse of my journey. But let me share the full story right here.
I come from beautiful Quito, Ecuador, but life led me to the U.S. for school – seems like forever ago. Unexpected twists took me from Florida to Virginia, to New Mexico, until I landed in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. That's where my journey into the world of wellness begun.
Before that, I was all about staying active, thinking I had a pretty healthy-ish lifestyle. But it wasn't until I hit Los Angeles that the real magic happened. The city radiated health and wellness vibes from every corner, naturally drawing me in. That's when I found yoga.
Fast forward a bit, and life took me to Dallas. The transition was so swift that my balance got thrown out the window. A different lifestyle and shifting priorities had me longing to reconnect, find lost harmony, and feel good again. Enter my vegan phase, which lasted about four years but still left me wanting more.
Yoga remained my constant love during this time. I did Yoga Teacher Training, dabbled in Ayurveda, and felt the need to go deeper. Dealing with symptoms I'd brushed off as "normal" – fatigue, mood swings, headaches, acne, you name it – led me to an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, and Ayurveda became my lifeline. It healed me in ways words can't capture, connecting me to a level of awareness I'd never experienced.
I then dove into full-time yoga teaching and working in an Ayurvedic clinic. During this period, I faced a heartbreaking miscarriage, pushing me to delve even deeper into Ayurveda and inner healing. I was trained as an Ayurvedic Body Therapist, earned my Ayurvedic Health Counselor certification from the California College of Ayurveda, along with a deep dive into Ayurvedic Integrative Nutrition and Coaching with the amazing Laura Plumb. During this period, I embraced my intuition and started eating intuitively, which had a profound impact on my health.
Last year, I embarked on one of my life's most epic adventures – a 3-week immersion in the beauty of Ayurveda in India. It was transformative, revealing more about myself than I thought possible
.
Over the years, I've faced challenges, found joy, and dealt with sadness. I've learned that living in harmony is a journey, not a destination. I've built a foundation of health and well-being that keeps me grounded through life cycles, however dark or challenging they might be. Embracing qualities of kindness, trusting my intuition, and anchoring in self-love have helped me make mindful choices, serving as key tools to free ourselves from discomfort and move toward a life of harmony and vitality.
I'm grateful for this life, the inner wisdom I've gained, ayurveda, my teachers, and the chance to share it all with you.
